1 ) New Deal with Universal!

The Wild Colonials this past week have signed a new record deal with Universal Music Group!

The band feel that the new Wild Colonials album is their best. There are also plans to release the non-album tracks in the coming year as well.

Since early 2001 the Wild Colonials have had two record deals and unfortunately both labels went belly up before the new Wild Colonials album could come out. Luckily the band still owned the rights to the unreleased album. Every six months or so the band would record some more music at their own expense.

The first of the new songs will be coming out this spring 2006! We will keep you posted about any updates and appreciate your continued faith and interest in all things Wild Colonials.

Christmas Is Quiet mp3

The Wild Colonials song Christmas is Quiet is available as a FREE download on the home page of www.wildcolonials.com.

The lyrics are also available to view online.

Here is Colonials' guitarist Shark to talk about the song...

"Unlike almost every other Christmas song, this song deals with what is more common than all the shopping and commercial festivities around us would like to acknowledge. That Christmas is (unfortunately) for many people not the happiest time of year. The holidays are for some an unfortunate reminder of some tragic event that coincided with the end of the year. For others the holidays are just ill timed forced get togethers or for many they are secretly alone.
Hey, I'm not trying to bring anybody down here, but as Angela says, If you want UP, go to Disneyland.

I never think of the song as a downer 'cause it is about going forward and striving for an understanding. And every year we do get the chance to create a new memory and a new tradition."

Happy Holidays, God bless us everyone.
-Shark
